THE STONES – Kyoto Irish Pub is a small Irish pub
a short walk from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit.
Everything began with an old folk tale called “Stone Soup.”
A traveler puts a stone in a pot, villagers each bring a little something,
and in the end everyone shares a warm, nourishing soup.
Our name, THE STONES, comes from that story.
Like that soup, we hope this pub will be a place where locals and travelers
bring their own laughter, words and music, and create one shared night together.
Kyoto Station gathers people who visit the city and people who live here.
Just beside the station, we want to be a place where travel nights
and everyday nights gently cross,
and where sitting side by side with a glass in hand
feels like sharing the same evening.
New York–style pizza and pub food.
Guinness, wine and classic cocktails in a slightly grown-up atmosphere.
Whether you come alone or with someone,
we hope your time in this small bar quietly warms you inside,
like a bowl of stone soup.

THE STONES – Kyoto Irish Pub は、京都駅八条口からほど近い、小さなアイリッシュパブです。
すべてのはじまりは、「石のスープ」という古い寓話です。
旅人が鍋に石を入れ、村人たちが少しずつ食材を持ち寄り、
最後には、みんなで分け合う温かいスープができあがる物語。
THE STONES という名前には、そのスープのように、
ローカルも旅人も、それぞれの笑いや言葉、音楽を少しずつ持ち寄って、
ひとつの夜をつくる場所であってほしい、という願いが込められています。
京都駅には、旅で京都を訪れる人と、ここで暮らす人たちの時間が集まります。
そのすぐそばで、旅の夜といつもの夜が少しだけ交わり、
隣どうしグラスを傾けるうちに、自然と「夜を分け合う」ことができる場所でありたいと思っています。

ギネス、ワイン、クラシックカクテルをゆっくり楽しめる、少し大人の空気。
